Systems Engineer

Position Overview:

The Systems Engineer/Battery Operations Center is responsible for executing systems engineering and integration efforts in support of the Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies (RCCTO) Mid-Range Capability (MRC) Project Office, which is responsible for the development, testing, integration, and fielding of the Army's Mid-Range Missile capability.

Job Responsibilities:

Battery Operations Center Engineering

  • Finalizes design and development
  • Supports Engineering mitigation of production issues
  • Supports Integration activities
  • Supports maturation of Technical Data Package from Level 2 to Level 3
  • Creation of artifacts to support the fielding decision
  • Reviews contract deliverables and provides comments and feedback to the Product Director

Systems Engineering

  • Executes Configuration Management to include Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) through Joint Configuration Change Board (JCCB)
  • Leads BOC Technology Insertion Points (TIPs) identification and management

Battery Operations Center Integration Support

  • Monitors cost, performance, and schedule indicators and provides input to the Product Director
  • Facilitates Battery Operations Center Integrated Product Team Meetings
  • Manages Change Requests and coordinates with Engineering and Configuration Management
  • Reviews System and Product Specifications and provides comments and feedback to the Product Director
  • Maintains Battery Operations Center Action Items
  • Reviews Battery Operations Center Product Drawings and Design
  • Coordinates with Engineering for Product Improvements identified for Technology Insertion Points

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Systems Engineering and Integration

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of Systems Integration to system development and requirements analysis.
  • Ability to multitask in a high paced environment
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Multi-Disciplinary Engineering Aptitude - Ability to work with the OEM to evaluate solutions for Technical Insertion Points. The Battery Operations Center involves and understanding of electronics, disparate computer system integration/federation, and electronics cooling/environmental conditioning requirements.
  • Production - ability to monitor supply status, build status, identify log jams and see schedule risk
  • Program Management - ability to look at cost/schedule/performance metrics

Clearance and Other Requirement:

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • 15-20% travel required
